Contract Documents
A contract is a legally binding document that is made between two or more parties and contract documents are made with a mutual agreement between the involved parties and are signed on the basis of thorough consideration. If any one of the parties involved in the contract fails to follow and abide by the terms of the document, then that party can be made to face legal actions because of the nature of the contract document.
A contract document consists of the following different sections:
- The first part of any contract document should consist of the details of the involved parties such as the name, address and phone numbers. Here it must be clearly mentioned that which party holds which position. For examples in case of a lease contract, one party is the ‘lessor’ and the other is the ‘lessee’.
- The second part of the contract document deals with the details of the contract. Here the financial aspect, if any can be discussed in detail. This part should also focus on the effective date and the duration of the contract.
- The next section consists of the terms and conditions of the contract which have to be mentioned point wise.
- The last part must be left for the signatures of the involved parties.
Any contract document should be formal in the tone and the given format should be followed.
